Your data & privacy
Plain language, no fine print. Here's exactly what is and isn't stored — and you're always in control.
By default, your journal stays on your device
When you use the journal without turning on sync, everything you write lives only in this browser, on this device. It never touches our servers or anyone else's. Clearing your browser data clears it.
If you turn on Weekly Summary & Sync (optional)
You can choose to sync your journal to your account so we can email you a weekly summary of your child's patterns and so it's there on your other devices. If you turn this on:
- Your entries are stored in your private account, readable only by you (protected by row-level security).
- We use it only to build your weekly summary. We never sell it, never show it to other members, and never use your raw entries for anything else.
- You can turn sync off, delete your synced data, or delete your whole account at any time.
Helping research (separate, also optional)
You can separately opt in to help research into developmental patterns and what helps for autism and ADHD. If you do, only de-identified, aggregated signalsare used — things like “a calming routine helped” or an anonymized phase pattern. Neveryour name, your child's name, or the words you wrote. Findings are only ever reported in aggregate (e.g. “across many families, X tended to help”), never about an individual. This is off unless you choose it, and you can withdraw anytime.
About children's information
This journal is for a parent or caregiver to record their own observations. It's meant for adults, and any information about a child is entered by the adult who cares for them. We treat that information with extra care, store the minimum needed, and never use it to identify or contact a child.
